چکیده

Nowadays, more and more enterprises realize that one important step to success in their business is to create new and innovative products. Many times the solution to do that is to abandon the idea of an enterprise as an “isolated island”, and get collaboration with others: worldwide non-hierarchical networks are characterized by collaboration and non-centralized decision making. This paper proposes a conceptual model common to the entire business network, in a framework that enables the abstraction of individual models at their meta-level and increase language independency and interoperability, keeping all the enterprise software’s integrity intact. The strategy presented allows an incremental mapping construction, to achieve growing integration.

A MDA-Based Approach for Web Information System Development

Nowadays, new technologies and platforms are emerging and changing constantly, which implies a high effort developing software products. This situation generates different problems related to portability, integration and interoperability. The Object Management Group (OMG) proposes the Model Driven Architecture (MDA), which improves portability of applications by allowing the same model to be re...

Extension of Petri Nets by Aspects to Apply the Model Driven Architecture Approach

Within MDA models are usually created in the UML. However, one may prefer to use different notations such as Petri-nets, for example, for modelling concurrency and synchronization properties of systems. This paper claims that techniques that are adopted within the context of MDA can also be beneficial in modelling systems by using notations other than the UML. Petri-Nets are widely used for mod...

From the platform independent model (PIM) to the final code model (FCM) according to the model driven architecture (MDA)

OMG (Object Management Group) has defined the MDA (Model Driven Architecture) specification trying to solve the actual problems of systems integration and interoperability. The main goal of this work is to introduce some basic concepts of MDA and show that is possible to define methods to transform a Platform Independent Model (PIM) to different Final Code Models (FCM), this is, the same high l...

Meta-Modelling for Interoperability in Product Design

Interoperability of tools for product design relies on the utilization of common information models like ISO 10303 STEP. However STEP is based on the EXPRESS modelling language which is not supported by stateof-the-art software development tools. To reuse the huge repository of information models defined in the STEP Application Protocols transformations into other representations are needed. A ...

An Architecture for the Development of Context-aware Services based on MDA and Ontologies

Most ubiquitous or pervasive applications focus on the development of legacy or ad hoc architectures to capture and adapt context. There is no consensus or standards for context definition, representation and reasoning. These architectures join business logic with context-aware statements into the same artifact and do not provide context interoperability and reuse. In this work we present an in...
